*Anna's POV*

I call a cab immediately after the phone call from Mark, but I can't stop thinking about Ria and our memories together. I can't control the tears that escape from my eyes because I will never see my best friend ever again in my life.

She left me all alone, the plans we both made for each other for our future together are gone.

I recall the phone conversation with Mark. He said, "You will pay for this." What did he mean?

And about the letter, I am pathetic if Ria mentioned anything about her suicide mystery.

The cab suddenly stops in front of Ria's house. After I pay for my cab ride, I literally run into her house. It's majestic and resembles a palace. I come midway into the hall and collapse as I see a small memorial with her photo and some flowers surrounding it.

There are a few guests in the house attending the memorial for Ria. The maids are serving refreshments and snacks. One of the maids approaches me. I realize it's the maid that Ria and I would refer to as "Nanny" which means granny in our native language. "Sir is waiting for you in Ria's room," she states.

I try to ask her if she knows the reason for his call but she ignores my question, points in the direction of Ria's room, and continues on with her duties. I stand and wipe away my tears, trying to control my emotions.

I go upstairs in the direction of Ria's room, enter her room and walk to the center near her bed.

I stand at her bedside, looking at a photograph of the two of us on her nightstand. I take a step forward to touch Ria's face in the photograph, Then suddenly someone grabs me from behind and clutches my hair tightly.

I shout in pain

"Who are you? Leave me alone!!"

I can't move my face, but I can sense the person assaulting me is a very tall man who is quite muscular. He has me pinned to the wall with his forcefully, and still has a tight grip on my hair and looking at me.

My eyes are filling with tears and I can't control my emotions. I begin sobbing and cry loudly and try to wipe my tears with one of my hands, but before I can move my hand, the man grabs my wrist and pins it to the wall with his hand.

The engraved pearl on my bracelet cut deep into my skin where his hand is holding my wrist.

My body is so close to his heart that I can hear his heartbeat racing, and my chest is about to touch his torso. All this happens in just a fraction of a second.

I raise my face to look at who has me pinned to the wall with such force.

It's Mark.

His eyes are red with a fire that he can burn me to ash on the spot. He huffs and with his teeth clenched he states "Don't you dare to touch my sister's picture. If you do so again, I will kill you.

Sobbing loudly, I screech out "sheee was myy friennddd!!"

I stammer a bit.

At this, Mark scoffs and yells at me in anger.

Mark: "Friend?! You're the reason she's gone!"

Me: "You are mistaken. Why would I let my best friend die? I don't even know why she committed suicide."

I try to convince him, he immediately loosens his grip on my hair, my hand, and the rest of my body. I fall limply to the ground. He throws the autopsy reports towards me, and they fall on the ground before me.

I am reading the reports in shock because they state that Ria's body showed signs of a gang attack.

I check the information on the report:

Name: Ria

Age: 19 years

Gender: Female

I raise my head to look at Mark. I stare at him in shock and ask him "who did this to her?"

He throws an envelope at me. The letter is addressed to me, I read "Dear Anna" on the top.

I sit up straight to focus on the letter.
